The Surfside Business Association lands a giant step with the support of Commissioner Calderon, Commissioner Levine and Commissioner Weinberg as they voted in favor to purchase land directly adjacent to the post office lot for additional parking to the business district.
This project was two years in the making, with numerous statements and documents provided by the SBA to town management supporting the need for additional parking and establishing business friendly, rear door access parking on the east side of Harding Avenue. On February 9th, this all became a reality during the commission meeting.
The SBA would like to convey our thanks to the three commissioners in preserving the viability of the business district by providing this much needed parking lot. As a added bonus, the purchase of this lot comes at absolutely no cost to Surfside residents nor were funds from the general fund or taxed funds used.
